Two summers ago, I had the pleasure of being directed in a short film by the fabulous Rebekah Cook, who also wrote the film! The title of our film is “Changing Majors”, and it tells the story of Kevin, a young man whose search for his life-calling leads him in an unexpected direction….
My character was “Sophie”, a barista at the local coffee shop. Goodness knows I have been to enough coffee shops to be qualified for the role, ha! I really enjoyed playing Sophie, and getting more experience on a film set. We actors were in charge of our own continuity, and I felt like I learned a LOT about consistency and on-screen awareness in not only my performance, but also in my surroundings on set.
One of the REALLY cool things about this film is that it was selected to be the featured film in the composition competition at the Christian Worldview Film Festival, 2016! Several composers submitted film scores for Changing Majors, and then it was narrowed down to three finalists. Each finalist was from a different country, which I thought was really neat; the U.S, South Korea, and Sweden (at least, I think it was Sweden… haha!)! 😀
The winner of the competition competition was the very talented Sean Kisch, a young composer from Indiana (go Hoosiers!). To watch the full movie, and here Sean’s awesome score, just click below! I hope you enjoy watching Changing Majors as much as we enjoyed making it!
